HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US

An example of a live stream used as media activism is the He Will Not Divide Us livestream. The live stream commenced on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20, 2017. A camera was mounted on a wall outside the Museum of the Moving Image in New York with the words                  "he Will Not Divide Us" written directly above where the public was invited to deliver these words into the camera for “as many times and for as long as they wished” (“He Will Not Divide Us”).

“a show of resistance or insistence, opposition or optimism, guided by the spirit of each individual participant and the community” was what the activists described the installation's purpose to be. It  was intended to be streamed for the duration of Trump’s presidency but was taken down because it became a flashpoint for violence (“He Will Not Divide Us”).
